摘要: The activity of methionine adenosyltransferase (MAT) was investigated in erythrocytes and postmortem brain specimens (cortex gyrus frontalis, hippocampus thalamus) patients with schizophrenia treated neuroleptics. In comparison the control group, abnormally low values MAT Vmax an increased affinity towards (lower Km values) were found erythrocytes. brain, a regionally selective decrease cortex frontalis but however, unchanged. regions hippocampus, not thalamus, inversely correlated duration schizophrenia. rats for 28 days typical neuroleptic haloperidol atypical clozapine, significant increase corpus striatum. There is possibility that changes observed are attributed to medication.
