摘要: Ketorolac tromethamine, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory analgesic, was compared with flunixin and butorphanol for its analgesic efficacy potential side effects after laparotomy or shoulder arthrotomy in dogs. Sixty-four dogs were randomly assigned to receive 0.4 mg/kg body weight (BW) (n = 21), 1.0 BW ketorolac 0.5 22), double blind fashion. The rated from 1 4 (1 inadequate, excellent) each dog. average scores ketorolac, 3.4; flunixin, 2.7; butorphanol, 1.6. After arthrotomy, the 3.5; 3.0; 1.4 (5/11 dogs). As unable control pain oxymorphone, 0.05 BW, replaced subsequent group of had score 2.0 (6/11 Serum alanine aminotransferase creatinine significantly elevated above baseline at 24 hours postoperatively receiving flunixin. One dog developed melena hematochezia. histological evidence gastric ulceration. We concluded that is good postoperative
