摘要: India lacks a national policy on the prevention and control of genetic disorders. Although haemoglobinopathies have received some attention, there are scarce data epidemiology other disorders in India. Haemophilia, an inherited single gene disorder with incidence 1 per 10,000 births, manifests as spontaneous or trauma-induced haemorrhagic episodes patients, progressing to chronic disability premature mortality untreated patients sub-optimal treatment. basis this has been well studied India, number trends social costs condition opportunities competencies for offering counselling through public health programme not reported. This review article summarizes available Indian data, which show that country harbours second highest global haemophilia A.
