摘要: Acid and neutral proteinases, ‘leucine aminopeptidase’ (l-leucyl-β-naphthylamidase) acid phosphatase were studied in rat sciatic nerves undergoing Wallerian degeneration. Biochemical evidence indicated that increased activity of both proteases occurred by 12 hr after nerve section. Histochemical changes these three enzymes apparent days. estimation (an enzyme predominantly located myelin the normal peripheral nerve) showed near first week During second section all became markedly more active. The parallel increase proteinase similarities their histochemical distribution suggest is lysosomal origin. Such early degeneration appear to precede macrophage invasion arise mainly from degenerating axon, Schwann cell, or both. In spite delayed it seems possible some also arises myelin.
