摘要: For the cubic lattices of liquid-crystalline blue phases I and II electrostriction has been observed recently, i.e., a distortion crystal by an electric field in quadratic order. Here we investigate characterizing fourth-order tensor. Because results from competition between elastic forces, tensor is quotient elasto-optic The latter are derived Landau–de Gennes theory phase transitions liquid crystals within model rigid helices expressed as functionals alignment for undistorted system.
