摘要: This chapter discusses the theory and data on sperm competition in fishes. It also compares with predictions from theory, evolutionary consequences of this diverse group vertebrates. However, occurs when different males compete for fertilization. The degree ranges widely fishes, both interspecifically intraspecifically, that never experience competition, to are frequent several other males. Fertilization can occur environment by either release gametes into water column or deposition eggs substrate. In internal fertilizers, introduced female's body subsequent events ranging development viviparity cases where fertilization delayed until released. Therefore, external provides an opportunity is exploited simultaneously, resulting high levels competition. Thus, addition its effect intrasexual some forms limit extent which females choose among potential mates. Finally, potentially reduce direct benefits a female might receive male choosing her.
