摘要: Lung cancer is the leading cause of deaths worldwide. Recent progress in understanding molecular pathogenesis this disease has resulted novel therapeutic strategies targeting specific groups patients. Further studies are required to provide additional advances diagnosis and treatment. Animal models valuable tools for studying oncogenesis lung cancer, particularly during early stages where tissues rarely available from human cases. Mice have traditionally been used vivo, a variety spontaneous transgenic available. However, it recognized that other species may also be informative cancer. Ovine pulmonary adenocarcinoma (OPA) naturally occurring sheep caused by retrovirus infection several features common with humans, including similar histological appearance activation cell signaling pathways. Additionally, size organization lungs much closer those than mice, which facilitates experimental approaches not mice. Thus OPA presents opportunities tumor development can complement conventional murine models. Here we describe potential applications as model an emphasis on various vivo vitro systems
