摘要: Corporate appropriation of genetic resources, development and deployment transgenic varieties, the global imposition intellectual property rights are now widely recognized as moments accumulation by dispossession. Though robust globally distributed, opposition to such processes have been largely defensive in orientation, even accommodationist demands for market mechanisms compensating those from whom germplasm is being collected. A more radical stance founded on legal operational drawn open-source software movement could not only function impede dispossession, but might actually facilitate repossession ‘seed sovereignty’. Implementation ‘biological open-source’ arrangements plausibly undergird creation a protected commons populated farmers plant breeders whose materials would be freely available exchanged, who monopolize them.
