摘要: Mutants of Neurospora resistant to chromate were selected and all found map at a single genetic locus designated as cys-13. The chromate-resistant mutants grow wild-type rate on minimal media but are partially deficient in the transport inorganic sulfate, especially during conidial stage. An unlinked mutant, cys-14, is sensitive transports sulfate mycelial stage only 25% rate; cys-14 also grows fully media. double-mutant strain, cys-13;cys-14, cannot utilize for growth completely lacks capacity this anion. biochemical lesion that has been detected strain its loss transport. appears possess two distinct permease species encoded by separate loci. system (permease I) cys-13 predominates replaced II, locus, outgrowth into phase. relationship these new cys-3, regulatory gene control their expression, discussed.
