摘要: Tuberculosis is a lethal epidemic, difficult to control disease, claiming thousands of lives every year. We have developed nanodelivery formulation based on para-aminosalicylic acid (PAS) and zinc layered hydroxide using nitrate salt as precursor. The has fourfold higher efficacy PAS against mycobacterium tuberculosis with minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) found be at 1.40 μg/mL compared the free drug MIC 5.0 μg/mL. newly was also active Gram-positive bacteria, Gram-negative Candida albicans. biocompatible human normal lung cells MRC-5 mouse fibroblast cells-3T3. in vitro release from sustained body simulated phosphate buffer saline (PBS) solution pH values 7.4 4.8. Most importantly nanocomposite prepared advantageous terms yield toxic oxide contamination had biocompatibility one In summary, these promising results are highly encouraging for continued investigation nanocomposites vivo eventual preclinical studies.
