摘要: In industrialized countries, surgicalgastroplasty is performed more and frequently inpatients with morbid obesity. The aims of thisprospective study were to determine the incidence ofupper gastrointestinal lesions in obese patients assess theplace digestive endoscopy symptomatic patientsafter gastroplasty. A consecutive group 159 obesepatients studied before after vertical banded preoperative evaluation, reflux esophagitis gastroduodenal wereendoscopically observed 31% 37% patients, respectively. Interestingly, majority upper gastrointestinallesions asymptomatic. postoperativefollow-up period, 55 complained symptoms such as vomiting (72%), esophageal reflux (17%), epigastric pain(3%). Stenosis outlet gastric pouch wasdescribed 40 patients.Esophagitis was 60% these patients.Endoscopic dilation using Savary bougies or TTS balloonwas successfully all withsymptomatic stenosis outlet. Foodimpaction endoscopically removed four patients. Thus, we recommend performing an uppergastrointestinal who arecandidates for surgical gastroplasty because highincidence peptic lesions.Endoscopy also helpful digestivedisorders occurring order todefine treat lesions.
