On-chip spin-controlled orbital angular momentum directional coupling

摘要: Optical vortex beams have many potential applications in the particle trapping, quantum encoding, optical orbital angular momentum (OAM) communications and interconnects. However, on-chip compact OAM detection is still a big challenge. Based on holographic configuration spin-dependent structure design, we propose demonstrate an spin-controlled OAM-mode directional coupler, which can couple signal to different directions due its topological charge. While coupling function be switched on/off by altering spin of incident beam. Both simulation experimental measurements verify validity proposed approach. This work would benefit devices for high dimensional coding/decoding future.
