摘要: The channel proteins belonging to the major intrinsic (MIP) superfamily are diverse and found in all forms of life. Water-transporting aquaporin glycerol-specific aquaglyceroporin prototype members MIP superfamily. MIPs have also been shown transport other neutral molecules gases across membrane. They internal homology possess conserved sequence motifs. By analyzing a large number publicly available genome sequences, we identified more than 1000 from organisms. We developed database MIPModDB which will be unified resource for MIPs. For each entry, this contains information about source, gene structure, features, substitutions NPA motifs, structural model, residues forming selectivity filter radius profile. selected set MIPs, it is possible derive structure-based alignment evolutionary relationship. Sequences structures can downloaded freely at http://bioinfo.iitk.ac.in/MIPModDB.
