Equipping Social Workers to Address Spirituality in Practice Settings: AModel Curriculum

摘要: While there is growing interest in incorporating clients’ spiritual beliefs and values into social work practice, several studies have shown that workers lack the necessary training to address issues a culturally competent manner. This paper addresses this need by providing an annotated spirituality training course for use various settings. Topics or domains covered curriculum include ethics and values, research theory on spirituality, nation’s spiritual demographics, cultures of major traditions, value conflicts, spiritual interventions, assessment approaches, rights believers. A number potential assignments are offered,which designed promote practitioner self-awareness, respect diversity, enhanced ability to assess operationalize strengths ameliorate problems practice
