摘要: This project is focused on developing novel smart textiles based conducting polymer coatings deposited a foam substrate. process renders the conductive, while retaining tactile properties of original material. The soft, porous and conductive solid, made by chemically oxidising pyrrole in presence polyurethane foam. 3-D structure this material means it sensitive to pressures exerted from all three dimensions, making attractive for use wearable sensors sport medical applications. A potential application under investigation development insole patients with Diabetes Mellitus, who require constant monitoring pressure underfoot during walking or standing order reduce risk damaging their feet due excess being applied. Future applications may also lie area electronic components, whereby can be fabricated produce resistors, capacitors, etc. gas sensing capabilities were investigated. Results have shown that fabric chemical sensor offers higher selectivity towards ammonia over other volatile organic vapours.
