The contact between the Pieniny Klippen Belt and Magura Unit (the Male Pieniny Mts.)

摘要: The fold-and-thrust tectonic stage in the Pieniny Klippen Belt commenced at Cretaceous-Tertiary boundary (late sub-Hercynian phase) and resulted formation of a series oftectonic units. In laworki region these are: Branisko NiedzicaNappes, Czertezik Czorsztyn Units (the last-men­ tioned unit is considered to be autochthonous). According previous views, associated with Laramian phase (Palaeocene) which followed later, folding peri-klippen parts Magura Basin, their "retro-arc thrusting" over Grajcarek Unit. However, during present studies, no evidence rearrangement pattern could related retro-arc thrust­ ing, has been recorded. Instead, possibility progressive thrusting klippen units forefield Unit already lost its autochthonous position, considered. Consequently: (1) thrustnappe should prolonged time from Maastrichtian until Middle Palaeocene times, (2) position within recognized as windows (but not caps Unit, back-thrusted chocked grabens) and, (3) part included into distinguishing, most, near-contact deformation zone. result that shifted southwards, i.e. contact between region, Homole Biala Woda Blocks must cap resting upon Repowa Fault described new structural element Carpathian arc-like bending.
