摘要: The demographics of the American workforce shifted considerably throughout last several decades, most notably reflected in increasing number women employed outside home. Researchers from a wide range disciplines thus examined issues related to women’s involvement workplace, including their work-family conflict. One emergent criticism research, however, is that extant research tends emphasize experiences professional white women, while color are largely overlooked. Whereby some suggest all remain disadvantaged workplace (Hakim, 2004), often “double jeopardy” for belonging two status categories gender and race (King, 1988). Thus it reasonable suspect substantially different women. goal our chapter provide comprehensive overview color. We first discuss embracing multiple identities’ approach (i.e., intersection race). then review role race/ethnicity research. Using national labor force data, we compare descriptive variables identify how needs resources differ. Finally, methodological considerations suggestions guide future scholars’ work within area.
