摘要: This study examines histometrical changes induced by sodium arsenite (SA), as an environmental pollutant, and investigates the protective effect of α-tocopherol on ovaries SA-treated rats during prenatal stage until sexual maturity. Rats were classified into groups: control, SA (8 ppm/day), (100 SA+α-tocopherol. Treatment was performed from pregnancy maturation when weighed. The Cavalieri method used to estimate volume ovaries, cortex, medulla, corpus luteum. mean diameter oocytes, granulosa cells, nuclei measured estimated using Nucleator method. number oocytes thickness zona pellucida (ZP) determined optical dissector orthogonal intercept method, respectively. reduced body ovary weight, secondary, antral Graafian medulla luteum, in primordial primary follicles, oocyte all types ZP secondary follicles. Also, cells their follicles decreased significantly. Vacuolization vascular congestion luteum increase atretic seen group. Most these parameters unchanged control level SA+α-tocopherol It concluded that supplementation toxic effects exposure ovarian tissue rats.
