摘要: Abstract Utilization of d -xylose as carbon source for production bacterial cellulose was studied. Seventeen strains acetic acid bacteria were screened their productivity in -glucose, -xylose, and -xylose/ -xylulose mixed media, respectively. -Xylose not well metabolized by any that exhibited high -glucose medium. Consequently, medium unsuccessful. -Xylose, however, became utilizable substrate if xylose-isomerase added to the Acetobacter xylinus IFO 15606 best producer medium, so cultural conditions studied enhanced production. With pH controlled, strain could produce at a yield exceeding 0.3 g per 100 ml which comparable yields excellent producers literature.
