摘要: Abstract The role of cholesterol in inducing the phase transitions mixed monolayers with arachidyl alcohol and oleic acid has been studied by surface pressure evaporation resistance measurements monolayers. to water indicates effect molecular interactions found be a more sensitive parameter for studying than average area/molecule. A minimum 15–20 mol% is required cholesterol-arachidyl mixture completely fluidize two-dimensional solid film. sharply decreases lower value at molar ratio 20:80 cholesterol:arachidyl due transition monolayer. Cholesterol fluidizes monolayer disrupting association saturated hydrocarbon chains alcohol. In case acid-cholesterol monolayers, 75 show maximum solidifying effect. this particular mixture. It proposed that molecules occupy cavities present liquid thus reduce water.
