Current Efficiency of an Ion‐Selective Membrane: Effect of Fixed Charge Distribution

摘要: The effect of fixed charge distribution, C 3 , in an ion-selective membrane on its current efficiency, η, is investigated. An intuitive parameter M 2, which a measure for the nature proposed, and three families including linear, exponential, trigonometric, are examined. Under condition that total amount charges constant, 2 has positive maximum 2max if all near right membrane-liquid interface, negative minimum 2min left interface. Any other type distribution value between these two extremes, uniform, = 0. It found η closely related to . In words, latter can be used predict former. We show that: (i) 0, variation as function maximum; (iii) (iv) independent applied density.
