Neuropathological Studies of Schizophrenia: A Selective Review

摘要: Over the past 20 years, there has been a relatively quiet but persistent effort to investigate anatomical neuropathology in schizophrenia . This involved post-mortem histopathology using novel preparation procedures, pneumoencephalography, and computed tomography. The bulk of this research is critically reviewed here. evidence presented suggests that brains schizophrenic patients frequently contain abnormalities. limbic region especially likely show pathological changes. However, changes are variable nonspecific. implications these findings discussed terms our limited knowledge clinical manifestations subtle pathology. It concluded pathology regions associated with more gross pathology, neurologically impaired patients.
