摘要: Direct metal laser sintering (DMLS), sometimes used interchangeably with the term direct (DMS), is an additive manufacturing (AM) technique of synthesizing metallic parts from alloy powder. This paper looks at application DMLS to waveguide-based passive microwave components, antennas, and antenna arrays. Communication or radar systems use components antennas transport manipulate radio-frequency (RF) power because they are arguably most efficient. However, mostly only in selected high-performance systems, especially frequencies X-band Ku-band, costly difficult fabricate as specialized processes like dip brazing, electron beam welding, electroforming needed for making complicated parts. The advent maturing technology may revive fortunes designs that previously can be now easily handled. Furthermore, continues become more affordable, its versatility means a engineer leverage on design very efficient novel not even practical previously.
