摘要: Abstract Using two-dimensional liquid fluidized beds of glass particles in water, we have been able to identify at least four discrete fiow regimes. The points transition between these regimes are sharp and non-hysteretic. include (in the order increasing gm/gmmf), wavy fiow, with transverse structure, fine-scale turbulent flow, bubbling states. Characterization each is given terms rime length scales motion, as measured by light transmission, optical scanning, digital time-series analysis. Features mechanics states discussed. Observation state for moderate density (ρs = 3990 kg/m3) new, shown be related fo anomalous expansion data reported earlier investigators.
