Hydrodynamic characteristics of slotted breakwaters under regular waves

摘要: The performance of a slotted breakwater consisting one row vertical slots was investigated theoretically and experimentally under normal regular waves. A simple theoretical model based on an eigenfunction developed. wave transmission, reflection, energy loss, hydrodynamic force exerted the were calculated for different values structure parameters. validity examined by comparing its results with experimental obtained from studies. It found that transmission coefficient decreases increasing dimensionless wavenumber (kh), steepness (Hi/L), decreasing porosity (e). reflection showed opposite trend to coefficient. Also, about 20–50% incident lost due effect breakwater. In addition, proposed can be used predicting breakwaters forces these structures using friction f = 1.5.
