摘要: Essential hypertension is among the most common and costly medical conditions in United States. Multiple defects kidneys, vasculature, neuro-endocrine system may contribute to development of this disorder. Within past decade investigators have identified several molecular components vasculature that control tone influence blood pressure. For example, large conductance BK type calcium-activated potassium channel has recently been shown play an important role maintaining dynamic equilibrium between vasoconstriction vasodilation vascular smooth muscle. Activation muscle channels leads hyperpolarization cell membrane, which causes deactivation voltage-dependent calcium vasodilation. In review, we will summarize published data focusing on channel's accessory beta1 subunit as well other modulators activation
