摘要: Abstract An integrated provenance analysis based on sandstone petrography, distribution of REE and trace elements, U/Pb detrital zircon dating Carboniferous sedimentary rocks northern Verkhoyansk Fold Thrust Belt (FTB) provides new insights into the tectonic evolution NE Siberia. According to petrographic geochemical data, Lower Visean sandstones had local that contained mafic magmatic rocks. Wide ca. 2075 Ma zircons known in basement neighboring Olenek Ust’-Lena uplifts supports sandstones. Starting from Late Visean, clastic sediments have compositions are characteristic for erosion predominantly felsic a more remote source region. Detrital age distributions Upper – sandstones, point Taymyr Severnaya Zemlya FTB Central Asian Orogenic (CAOB) as most likely provenances However, wide Neoproterozoic early Paleozoic not typical synchronous CAOB-derived West Verkhoyansk, provide evidence other than CAOB area. We infer is Taimyr-Severnaya FTB. The shift sources suggests an earlier (Late Visean) collision between Kara terrane Siberia has been previously assumed Permian). Our paleogeographic restoration reveals existence two major fluvial systems draining eastward across Siberian Craton during Carboniferous: Paleo-Lena south Paleo-Khatanga north.
