摘要: Bacteroides forsythus is one of the etiologic agents destructive periodontal diseases. Determining which antigenic components bacterium are recognized in immune response periodontitis patients an important step assessing strategies for vaccine development. The aim this study was to identify major strain-variable and cross-reactive antigens B. clinical isolates by serum IgG from with early-onset rapidly progressive periodontitis. Ten patient sera measurable against species were identified Western blot. Positive tested checkerboard ELISA those most responsive nine ATCC strain 43037. Correlation analysis data suggested that different subsets preferentially sera. blots revealed certain also shared across all isolates, but preferential recognition isolate clearly confirmed. To determine if variable nonprotein, proteinase K-digested compared undigested controls main resistant, while proteins at 200 210 kDa as components. Two-dimensional SDS-PAGE these quantitatively dominant heat-modifiable cell envelope. Even though prominent patients, a cross-protective based on envelope seems feasible light observations.
