摘要: Summary Background & aims Predictive equations for basal energy expenditure (BEE) derived from Caucasians tend to overestimate BEE in non-Caucasians. The aim of this study was develop a more suitable method estimate Japanese patients with diabetes using indices readily measured clinical practice. Methods by indirect calorimetry under strict condition 68 type 1 or 2 diabetes. best fitting equation investigated multiple regression analysis age, sex, and anthropometric indices. resultant new tested separate group 60 diabetes, the accuracy compared existing equations. Results best-fit [kcal/day] = 10 × (body weight)[kg] – 3 × (age)[y] + 125 (if male) + 750. Adjusted coefficient determination 81.0%. Root mean squared errors accurate prediction validation set were 103 kcal/day 78% equation; 184 50 Harris-Benedict; 209 38 Oxford; 205 42 Liu; 140 63 Ganpule. Conclusions This is simpler estimates accurately than presently used do.
