摘要: Abstract Background and Purpose To review the freedom from biochemical recurrence (FBR) rates after permanent prostate brachytherapy (PPB), external beam radiotherapy (RT) to a minimum 70Gy, or radical prostatectomy (RP) for clinically localized stage T1–T2 adenocarcinoma of prostate. Patients Methods The study cohort consisted 1819 consecutively treated clinical (AJCC 1997) cancer patients between 1992 1998. All received monotherapy treatment without additional adjuvant therapy. distribution by modality was as follows: RT 340, RP 746, PPB 733 cases. median follow-up time 58 months all cases (51 cases, 56 64 cases). Biochemical relapse defined be detectable PSA levels in ASTRO consensus panel definition Results 7-year FBR vs EBRT were 74, 77, 79%, respectively. Multivariate analysis identified iPSA ( P Conclusions Pretreatment levels, biopsy Gleason score determined outcome this cohort. failure are similar PPB, RT, cancer.
