摘要: The chemical composition of 29 bore well water samples throughout the Kalpakkam region, South India, was determined to identify major hydrogeochemical processes and suitability groundwater for domestic irrigation purposes. hydrochemical data were analyzed with reference World Health Organization (WHO) standards their facies determined. Piper plot shows that most fall in field mixed calcium–sodium–bicarbonate type followed by sodium–chloride, calcium–bicarbonate calcium–magnesium–chloride types. concentration total dissolved solids exceeds desirable limit about 14% samples; alkalinity values exceed 34% samples. sulphate is within at all locations. dominance various heavy metals sequence: Zn > Fe Mn Cu Ni Pb Cr Cd. Among metal ions, chromium cadmium are permissible limit. Data plotted on US Salinity Laboratory diagram, which illustrates high salinity low sodium hazard, can be used irrigate salt tolerant semi-tolerant crops under favorable drainage conditions. Based analytical results, indices like adsorption ratio residual carbonate calculated show good irrigation.
