摘要: Background Radical nephrectomy (RN) is the recommended surgical management as part of multi-modality therapy for unilateral Wilms tumor (UWT). Based on recent data demonstrating that renal preserving surgery decreases likelihood chronic disease and associated co-morbidities, we analyzed oncologic outcomes patients after partial (PN) UWT. Methods We identified all published cases PN UWT. Cases elective UWT were stage, presence, timing location recurrence, overall survival (OS). Eighty-two had adequate analysis. For comparison, these endpoints collected consecutive children undergoing RN from 1985 to 2010 at our institution. Results Of 82 patients, stage was: I—64, II—10, III—6, IV—2. Of 121 staging I—24, II—45, III—29, IV—23. In group, a median 48 months (3–372), recurrence-free (RFS), local RFS OS 89.1%, 92.7%, 95.1%, respectively. 69 (0–214), RFS, 83.1%, 95.0%, After controlling there no statistically significant differences in above between groups. Conclusion Based reported data, selected do not appear differ those RN. appropriately with should be studied prospective, co-operative group trials.
