摘要: Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a major public health problem affecting approximately 2% to 3% of children. However, snoring, the cardinal symptom OSA, affects at least 5-fold more children, such that evaluation by overnight polysomnography (ONP) required for diagnosis. ONP laborious, expensive, and relatively unavailable Proteomic mass spectrometry coupled with bioinformatic tools provide valuable means discovery new biomarkers in serum variety human disorders. The possibility exists snoring children without OSA may exhibit different protein expression profiles could be useful development novel diagnostic this condition. proteomic patterns 20 habitual primary but no evidence (HS) were evaluated using surface-enhanced laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight (SELDI-TOF MS). Linear discriminative analysis identified three differentially regulated proteins molecular masses 5896, 3306, 6068 Da capable diagnosing 93% sensitivity 90% specificity. Thus, signatures sera from differ those HS who do not fulfill current criteria treatment. Identification sequencing expressed discovered through strategies lead future serum-based tests
