摘要: Cuttings of Populus kangdingensis and cathayana originating from altitudes 3500 1500 m in southwestern China, respectively, were grown for one growing season the field under ambient or plus supplemental ultraviolet-B (UV-B) radiation with two levels nutrients. In both species, enhanced UV-B significantly increased absorbing compounds guaiacol peroxidase (GPX) activity, while no significant effects observed photosynthetic pigments proline content. On other hand, cuttings high-nutrient availability had larger leaf area, higher total biomass GPX activity as well water use efficiency (WUE) (as measured by stable carbon isotope composition, delta 13C) when compared low-nutrient conditions, ascorbic acid (AsA) content decreased. Differences responses to nutrient between species. Nutrient-induced increases chlorophyll a, b carotenoids greater P. than cathayana. cathayana, decreased area biomass, it WUE ascorbate (APX). contrast, such changes not kangdingensis. addition, on closely related status. Our results indicated that kangdingensis, which originates altitude is apparently adapted high-UV-B habitats, exhibits better tolerance growth does m.
