摘要: Abstract Objectives The aim of this study was to compare the operational impact using vanadate oxidase versus diazo direct bilirubin assays for an academic medical center patient population. Design and methods Retrospective done over approximately 3.5 year period. main automated chemistry instrumentation a Roche Diagnostics cobas 8000 line. Direct Bilirubin assay compared Diazyme Laboratories Assay Randox manufacturer's guidelines hemolysis index, lipemia analytical measurement range (AMR). Results data analyzed 47,333 serum/plasma specimens that had clinical orders bilirubin. A total 5943 (12.6%) exceeded index limit method only 0.2% 0.05% methods, respectively. particularly large on patients less than 2 years old, which 51.3% method. 1671 (3.5%) 0.1% Lastly, 988 (2.1%) concentrations exceeding upper AMR 10 mg/dL [171 µmol/L] 1% methods. Conclusions Vanadate offer advantages in terms interference by lipemia, as well wider AMR. are evident neonatal infant populations.
