摘要: We empirically investigate the effect of Internet on racial hate crimes in United States from period 2001–2008. find evidence that, average, broadband availability increases crimes. also document that Internet’s impact these is not uniform positive stronger areas with higher levels racism, which we identify as those more segregation and a proportion racially charged search terms, but significant lower racism. analyze depth whether access will enhance group operations no support for idea this mechanism driving result.
