Echocardiographic evaluation of the right ventricle: Clinical implications

摘要: Interest in evaluation of the right ventricle (RV) has increased recently. With growth new echocardiographic techniques and technology, there been a corresponding increase ability to evaluate RV, both qualitatively quantitatively. Older techniques, such as ventricular fractional area change, tricuspid annular plane systolic excursion, tissue S', newer including 3-dimensional global longitudinal strain, can improve our RV function. These provide diagnostic prognostic data on large variety clinical diseases pulmonary hypertension congestive heart failure. continuing exponential advances echocardiography is well poised become primary modality RV.
