摘要: Fourteen randomly assigned Iranian girls ages 12–13 years who had been sexually abused received up to 12 sessions of CBT or EMDR treatment. Assessment post-traumatic stress symptoms and problem behaviours was completed at pre-treatment 2 weeks post-treatment. Both treatments showed large effect sizes on the symptom outcomes, a medium size behaviour outcome, all statistically significant. A non-significant trend self-reported favoured over CBT. Treatment efficiency calculated by dividing change scores number sessions; significantly more efficient, with each outcome. Limitations include small N, single therapist for treatment condition, no independent verification fidelity, long-term follow-up. These findings suggest that both can help recover from effects sexual abuse, structured trauma be applied children in Iran. Copyright © 2004 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd
