摘要: This brief theoretical paper argues that Erikson's concept of identity was originally proposed as something constructed to a significant degree by the individual, i.e., an Instrumental Identity. With decline in instrumentality consumer/service-oriented society, original fits less well. A new conceptualization identity, Existential Identity, is proposed. Thus, earlier issue success versus failure at achieving Identity has begun give way dimension--of being either victim or beneficiary seeking Alternatively, stage "adolescence" can be viewed and Keniston's "youth" locus
