Nanoclay-Mediated Epoxidation of HTPB Using In-Situ-Generated Dimethyl Dioxirane

摘要: This paper reports on the epoxidation of hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene (HTPB) using in-situ-generated dimethyl dioxirane (DMD) as an oxidant and nanoclay a phase-transfer catalyst (PTC) at 25° C. The aim was to consider in detail functionality isomeric C=C bonds under different reaction circumstances combining time percentages PTC/oxone (w/w). data revealed selectivity oxidation cis double comparison with trans vinyl ones. products were characterized 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR FT-IR; no side-reactions observed. In addition, it found that hydroxyl group polymer chain remained unaffected although conditional controls implemented. It proven this method is easy convenient conditions are straightforward.
