摘要: The role of natural selection in speciation has received increasing attention and support recent years. Different types approaches have been developed that can detect genomic regions influenced by selection. Here, we address the question whether two highly different methods--F(ST) outlier analysis admixture analysis--detect largely same set non-neutral elements or, instead, complementary sets. We study genetic architecture a secondary contact zone where extensive occurs. marine bivalves Macoma balthica rubra M. b. descend from independent trans-Arctic invasions north Atlantic hybridize extensively they meet, for example Kattegat-Danish Straits-Baltic Sea region. Straits region forms steep salinity cline is only entrance to recently (ca. 8000 years ago) established brackish water basin Baltic Sea. Salinity along drops 30‰ (Skagerrak, M.b.rubra) 3‰ (Baltic, M.b.balthica). Both clines suggest large parts genome are effects. Contrasting samples well outside hybrid zone, detects 16 84 amplified fragment length polymorphism markers as significant F(ST) outliers. Genomic 31 inside zone. Remarkably, three detected both methods. conclude methods together identify suite under influence
