摘要: The leukocyte adhesion molecule L-selectin mediates neutrophil adhesive interactions with endothelial cells and is in part responsible for rolling. We examined the role of ischemia-reperfusion injury rabbit ears using a monoclonal antibody (MoAb) directed to functional epitope L-selectin. Arterial blood flow ear was occluded six hours ambient temperature at 23 degrees C 24 C. Rabbits were treated reperfusion saline (n = 8), function-blocking LAM1-3 MoAb (2 mg/kg), or nonfunction-blocking LAM1-14 mg/kg). Tissue determined by measuring edema necrosis. Edema MoAb-treated group (peak 25 +/- 4 mL) significantly less (P < .05) than saline-treated 40 8 41 6 groups. necrosis 7 days not observed group, whereas significant seen saline- (8% 3% necrosis) (7% group. conclude that blocking ameliorates after ischemia ear, presumably
