Canine trypanosomosis in Sri Lanka: An emerging problem reported from three distinct geographic locations.

摘要: Here we report three cases of canine trypanosomosis presented to the Veterinary Teaching Hospital in Faculty Medicine and Animal Sciences at University Peradeniya, Sri Lanka during 2018. The were hospital when dogs already critical condition. Confirmation was done by microscopic examination Giemsa-stained thin blood smears. All had bilateral keratitis anterior chamber cloudiness eyes. Despite intramuscular administration diminazine aceturate, all them subsequently died. Amplification sequencing a fragment internal transcribed spacer 1 (ITS1) nuclear ribosomal DNA confirmed parasite as Trypanosoma. evansi. This is first record clinical Lanka. reported here came from widely separated geographical locations within country: Balangoda, Mullaitivu Kadawatha.
