摘要: Abstract This case report describes the cytologic appearance of a solid and cystic thymoma with high CA-125 content (35,532 microns/mL, measured by enzyme immunoassay) in cyst fluid obtained fine needle aspiration (FNA). The initial FNA yielded straw-colored that contained scanty foam cells, lymphocytes benign epithelial cells was interpreted as bronchial inflammatory cyst. 35,532 microns/mL serum CA-125, 5.2 (normal < 15). In view discordance between diagnosis, suspicious radiologic level, portion mass performed. Smears/cell block examination showed large, cohesive clusters benign, spindle-shaped (keratin positive) admixed mature diagnostic thymoma. illustrates importance (1) sampling areas solid/cystic tumors, (2) rapid assessment material, (3) appropriate clinical correlation. It also features elevated fluid.
