摘要: The rabbit may not be the ideal model to study fluid resuscitation by rectal route The Girisgin et al 1 is an unusual one for Emergency Medical Journal as it animal study. It raises some interesting issues: 1. How valid of haemorrhage? 2. a when investigating gut absorption fluids? 3. blood pressure biomarker volume status? 4. Why investigate route resuscitation? To paraphrase HB Stoner,2 fathers trauma research in this country, good should fulfil certain criteria: Models haemorrhage classified into controlled and uncontrolled haemorrhages. Controlled either “Wiggers” type, which withdrawn until specified hypotensive achieved,3,4 or fixed-volume predetermined removed irrespective response.5 Uncontrolled models involve laceration major vessel—for example, 4 mm tear aorta.6 Although first two seem rather artificial compared with third, they do Stoner’s criteria, have shown that normal clotting, even tears aorta are invariably fatal, so then resemble models. The used ,1 rabbits were bled out about 30% their circulating mean arterial was reduced 34% baseline, fulfils criteria suggested Stoner. dissimilar …
