摘要: Background To compare the visual outcome and patients' satisfaction after ultrathin Descemet stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty (UT-DSAEK) membrane (DMEK) performed on fellow eyes of same patients. Methods In this retrospective study, records 18 pseudophakic patients affected by Fuchs dystrophy who underwent DMEK in one eye UT-DSAEK were reviewed. Best corrected acuity (BCVA), corneal pachymetry, keratometry, aberrations, photopic mesopic contrast sensitivity, cell counts measured 12 months surgery either analyzed compared. The results a questionnaire also Results Twelve surgery, BCVA was not significantly different (0.10 ± 0.04 0.07 logMAR, respectively); at both 4- 6 mm optical zones total posterior higher order aberrations (HOAs), astigmatism coma lower DMEK; groups correlated mainly with anterior aberrations; sensitivity especially conditions medium spatial frequencies; density similar, although slightly group (p = 0.10). showed that highly satisfied from procedures, more than half them preferred reported comfortable quicker postoperative recovery. Conclusions no evidence difference terms BCVA, had better performance overall patient satisfaction.
