Energy spectrum of stopping negative mesons and the concentration dependence of capture fractions

摘要: The physics that determines the shape of energy spectrum stopping negative mesons is discussed. We note a white spectrum, for arrival probability F(E), not flux P(E), follows large class models. importance distinguishing between F(E) and P(E) stressed: (E) reflects dependence total inelastic capture cross sections, while independent these. proportional E behavior found in some models due to meson at positive energies, i.e., behind centrifugal barrier. explore possibility concentration effect on ratios binary mixtures, conclude that, as long losses meson-atom collisions are much smaller than barrier height, such effects negligibly small.
