摘要: Growth of Escherichia coli in the presence ethanol and chaotropic salts resulted synthesis lipids containing elevated levels unsaturated fatty acids analogous to effect a reduction growth temperature. Both agents acted at level acid biosynthesis altered lipid composition by decreasing proportion saturated acyl chains available for phospholipids. A temperature causes similar effects on vivo vitro. Ethanol, salts, decrease all weaken hydrophobic interactions. Antichaotropic antagonized these treatments These results are consistent with common mechanism agents, temperature, synthesis. The may be regulated strength Changes interactions could alter enzyme structure, substrate or equilibrium between soluble enzymes their respective carrier protein substrates.
