摘要: The loudness of a 1000-Hz tone at weak sound pressures and its softness intense ones were scaled by the method magnitude estimation. Estimates plotted as function pressure on double logarithmic coordinates showed well-documented steepening near threshold. A similar occurred in high intensities. Stevens’ law, which is linear these coordinates, could be recovered either translating scale to new origin, or response scale. Translations preferred because they produced functions reciprocally related, whereas transformations stimulus made almost three times steep function.
