摘要: Carbon materials and nanomaterials are of great interest for biological applications such as implantable devices nanoparticle vectors, however, to realize their potential it is critical control formation composition the protein corona in media. In this work, adsorption studies were carried out at carbon surfaces functionalized with aryldiazonium layers bearing mono- di-saccharide glycosides. Surface IR reflectance absorption spectroscopy quartz crystal microbalance used study albumin, lysozyme fibrinogen. Protein was found decrease by 30–90% respect bare surfaces; notably, enhanced rejection observed case tested vs. simple mono-saccharides near-physiological concentration values. ζ-potential measurements revealed that chemistry results immobilization phenylglycosides without a change surface charge density, which known be important adsorption. Multisolvent contact angle calculate free energy acid-base polar components modified based on van Oss-Chaudhury-Good model: indicate resistance these phenylglycoside correlates positively wetting behavior Lewis basicity.
